About Iloilo International Airport
Iloilo International Airport, also known as Iloilo Airport, Cabatuan Airport or (sometimes) Santa Barbara Airport, is located in Cabatuan, Iloilo, the Philippines and serves the entire province of Iloilo, including the capital Iloilo City (19 km away). The airport was inaugurated on June 13th, 2007, replacing the old Iloilo Airport in Mandurriao. It is the most modern and the fourth busiest airport in the country with almost 2 million passengers a year. The airport is a hub for Cebu Pacific.
Iloilo Airport has one terminal for both domestic and international flights which is widely believed to be the most beautifully designed airport terminal in the country. The terminal consists of three sections: the first floor is for arrival and baggage claim, the second floor is for check-in only and the departure area is on the third floor.
Iloilo Airport offers domestic flights to all the major cities in the Philippines: Cebu, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Manila, General Santos and Puerto Princesa by Cebu Pacific, PAL Express and CebGo. Cebu Pacific also offers international flights to Singapore and Hong Kong.
About Clark Diosdado Macapagal International Airport
The Clark International Airport mainly serves the Clark Freeport Zone and Angeles City in the Philippines. Since the distance to Manila is about 80km it is often used as an alternative for flights to the capital as this airport has cheaper landing fees than Manila International Airport. It is recently renamed back to Clark International Airport after have been named the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) for few years. Currently Clark Airport has only one Terminal used for both domestic and international flights. Some recent reconstruction to the terminal saw the addition of two aerobridges and a second level. A second terminal is being constructed which will be used for international flights only. Also a Budget terminal will open in 2016.
Clark is a fairly small airport with about a million passengers a year. There are plans though to invest heavily and increase the capacity to 80 million passengers a year, that would make it one of the largest airports in the world. Currently facilities are limited with just a few basic shops and two international ATMs.
