Delta Air Lines to end flights to CNMI
Delta Air Lines will suspend all flights to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands effective May 6, CNMI Gov. Ralph Torres confirmed.
The suspension comes several months after Delta announced it would end services to Guam.
The airline last September announced it would stop operating routes between Japan and Guam, with its last flight Jan. 8, because of a decline in the Japan tourism market.
Torres, in a statement, said he and the Marianas Visitors Authority Managing Director Christopher Concepcion met with Delta executives in Tokyo last November and were assured the Narita-Saipan route would be maintained.
