There are many activities you can do while in Ternate. One of them is proving a famous myth. It is said that no matter how strong you throw a stone, it will never reach the water of Tolire Lake. For you who love to fish, you can visit Laguna Lake which now has been developed as fishing and fish-breeding place. Donâ€™t forget to come to Sulamadaha Beach, a black sand beach which is one main destination in Ternate. This beach has great spots for both diving and snorkeling.
Visiting one place will not be complete without tasting the typical food availabe. One typical food of Ternate you need to try is gohu ikan, known well as sashimi from ternate, made of sliced raw tuna poured with salt and lime, then mixed with basil leaves, onions, red chilli and then sautened with coconut oil and sprinkled with mashed of fried peanut. This food is usually served as side dish for rice or papeda. Donâ€™t forget to try gatang kenari (canary crab). This food is included in luxurious food for the price can up to several hundred thousand rupiahs. Try also fofoki, the most favorite vegetable for Ternate people. In Ternate, fofoki (eggplant) is usually roasted or fried and poured with coconut-milk condiment on top of it.

Babullah Airport is an airport in Ternate, Maluku, Indonesia (TTE). The airport was named after Babullah, who was the Sultan of Ternate who fought against the Portuguese in 1570s. Sultan Babullah Airport is served by Wings Air (Group Lion Air), Express Air and Trigana Air.
Taxis from the airport costs around Rp 55,000 for the 5km ride from Babullah Airport into the centre of the city. An Ojek will cost about Rp 15,000, you can find them just outside the gate. Alternatively walk 10 minutes to the university from where very frequent bemos cost only Rp 2000 to the bemo terminal.
